Hendrix's music was considered different to others of the time, he experimented a lot with abstract noises and distortion involved with the equipment be that speakers, guitars etc.
A few key points that I wanted to focus my designs around were that of noise, distortion, and 3D sound. This I thought would make for a distinctive design that is far drawn from a lot of his already existing artwork for his songs. Those being psychedelic, colourful pieces.
A couple of initial visual ideas
Playing around the idea of combining stereo sounds and also the devil's chords. I wanted to create visuals that would be representative of his sounds, which is where the 3d visualisations came from. Hopefully, this will make for contrasting imagery compared to typical Jimi Hendrix album covers.
