OUGD406: Studio Brief 03 - Exhibition Branding (Presentation & Feedback)

During the presentation we all spoke about the individual bits we worked on for example I spoke about the way finding of the project and how we aimed to go about doing it. We explained where our ideas came from and how they were 60's inspired, hence the largely bright contrasting colours and eccentric typeface used. The main part of the presentation was explaining how the space would be broken down and used, with the furniture being the main contributor to dividing up the large area of space.

Overall the feedback was positive with bits of negative feedback that was mentioned by most of the judges. One of those things being the use of furniture within the space, they explained how having brightly painted pieces of furniture might take away from the bank notes and almost become a piece of art in itself which is not how they envisioned the exhibition to be. Another point was the typeface used, this specific typeface was actually used for the olympics in Mexico in 1968 and so gave off the impression of sports related when it reality it was far from it.

The main thing we took away from the presentation was to strip down our concept to something not as big as having so much stuff going on within one room along with all the bank notes could be a bit too hectic and also take away from the whole point of the exhibition, the printed bank notes themselves.
